AIC moving into former Dorma Steeleville complex

AIC’s current facility on Westwood Drive in Steeleville
Larry Willis
It was June 30 of last year that dormakaba, the exit door hardware manufacturing plant in Steeleville, closed for good and put its facilities up for sale.
That complex will soon have new life, thanks to a successful Steeleville business that is expanding and a tax increment financing agreement approved by the town board Monday night.
Making the move is Advanced Industrial Controls, which is located at 6 Westwood Drive in Steeleville and has a second facility in Columbia, Illinois.
According to its website, AIC was established in 2006 in Waterloo by Jason Tretter as an electrical controls and automation system integrator.
Tretter is a Steeleville native.
