No Twelfth Night Ball this year

Travis Lott
For the first time since the 1970s, the Twelfth Night Ball in Prairie du Rocher will not take place.
Originally scheduled for January 9, the ball, an event in which people dress in the garb of the early settlers of Prairie du Rocher and gather for dancing and feasting, became the latest casualty of COVID-19.
The gala generally draws scores of people to the little village below the bluffs, all gathering in the American Legion banquet hall.
The ball is a tradition that dates back hundreds of years, to the earliest days of Prairie du Rocher.
