Trico going back to full attendance
Starting March 15, the beginning of the fourth quarter, Trico schools will return to a full five-day schedule from 8:30 to 3:30.
The change will come with increased restrictions on which students can opt to remain fully remote, as well, severely limiting the number of students who do not attend classes.
The changes were approved during the February 22 board of education meeting.
In the past month, Trico conducted a survey of teachers regarding what they wanted for reopening and what concerns they had about student attendance.
In the survey, 54 percent of teachers said they wished to remain on the four-day schedule, while just 15 percent wanted to return to five days. The other respondents had varying opinions such as keeping the four-day schedule but extending the time of the school days.
